Charities Supported by the Concours

Alameda Meals on Wheels (AMOW) is a locally-funded, seven-day-a-week program that has been delivering hot, nourishing meals to Alameda residents since 1973! Each day, holidays included, our cheerful and caring volunteers deliver a mid-day meal to more than 140 Alameda residents of all ages that need our assistance - whether due to recent surgery or hospitalization, because they aren't able to get out to grocery shop, or because they can't cook their own meals. Our subscribers pay on a sliding fee scale, based upon their ability.

Alameda Meals on Wheels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The Alameda Police Foundation aims at improving the lives of underprivileged youth in the City of Alameda. Through donations, fundraisers and grants, we are able to provide gifts, clothing, meals and financial assistance to underprivileged youth. During the holiday season, the Foundation hosts, “Shop-with-a-Cop,” where underprivileged youth are partnered with a uniformed police officer and given gift cards to spend at one of our local businesses. The Alameda Police Foundation provides education grants for underprivileged youth who need financial assistance for tuition, tutors, and extra-curricular activities. The Foundation is also proud to work with Alameda-based organizations who aim at providing assistance to underprivileged youth by offering financial support.
